October might be the best-kept secret on the Florida Gulf Coast. The water is still warm, the beaches are quieter, and the summer crowds have gone home. Weekends around Pensacola and Perdido Key also fill up with festivals, fall events and the last Blue Angels practices of the year. October Events in Pensacola: Three Weekends Worth a Trip

Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival (through October 11)

Beach-O-Ween and Gallery Night (October 16–17)

Start Friday with local fall events and Gallery Night in downtown Pensacola, when the streets fill with art, live music and food. On Saturday, catch the Pensacola Ice Flyers' opening weekend. It's a fun mix of beach, downtown and something a little different.

Pensacola Interstate Fair (October 22–November 1)
